Strong to severe thunderstorms are forecast to move across the Northland into this evening. A tornado watch is in effect from the Twin Ports south until 11 p.m.
The National Weather Service reports that the strongest storms may bring damaging wind, large hail and possibly tornadoes.
The tornado watch is in effect for Douglas, Carlton, Pine, Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Bayfield, Ashland, Iron, Sawyer, Washburn and Burnett counties. It also covers the Twin Cities.
