TODAY: Expect mostly sunny and cold weather. The winds won't be quite as bad, with westerly flow around 5-15 mph. Highs will be about minus 7.

FRIDAY: A wave in the jet stream will move over the region. Morning lows will be about minus 8. The wave will give us a 60 percent chance of snow showers, accumulating to 1-3 inches. Expect mostly cloudy skies and highs near 22.

SATURDAY: We will be between systems. The wave will have moved eastward and a clipper will be on the way. Expect mostly sunny skies with lows near 4 below and highs near 4 above.

SUNDAY: We will cool off as the clipper dives quickly to the southeast over Michigan. The best chance of snow (30 percent) will be in the early morning, with lows down to minus 14. The afternoon looks mostly cloudy with highs near minus 4. Polar air will bully its way south over the region, with the coldest temperatures so far expected Monday morning. Lows near 27 below!
