A trough in the jet stream still means mostly cloudy skies today throughout the Northland. There's also a 20 percent chance of showers.
On Friday, colder air will push southward into the region and we'll see a 50 percent chance of showers and mixed precipitation.
Nothing icy is expected to stick, and if you are away from the lake, you are more likely to see icy precipitation.
The bulk of the activity looks to be Friday night into Saturday morning.
Expect mostly cloudy skies by Saturday afternoon.
