Three people are in custody waiting formal charges for their alleged involvement in a home invasion in Sawyer County Sunday.

According to the Sawyer County Sheriff's Department:

A man came to Nelson Lake home early Sunday evening and asked if he could get a ride to an area resort. The homeowner gave the man a ride, leaving his 15-year-old son home alone.

Shortly after the father left, a man and female wearing ski masks came to the house and asked to use the phone. After using the phone, the man asked the teen where the money was. The two began fighting after the teenager asked if he was being robbed. During the fight, the female searched the house. The man and female then fled the house, taking cash, two laptop computers, old coins and an I-Pod.

Because the phone was damaged during the fight, the teenager ran to a neighbor's to call police. The juvenile's father told authorities where he had dropped off the first man. Officers searched the area and found a 22-year-old Riverton, Wyo., man hiding in an outhouse. The man told officers the names of the two people who had committed the robbery. A Hayward girl, 16, and a Fairbanks, Alaska, man, 19, were arrested about 10 a.m. today.
