3. Duluth Scottish Heritage Association's third annual Winter Jig Scottish Highland Dance Competition, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2310 E. Fourth St. International and regional highland dancers compete to the music of live bagpipes in front of a national judge. Features beginning to premier levels of traditional highland dance. 6. 13th annual Duluth Father Daughter Ball, sponsored by KDNW and Christ Lutheran Church of Duluth, will be held on two nights, Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 at the Lake Superior Ballroom at the DECC.
