A Texas fugitive was arrested outside a Superior bar Thursday night, according to police.

The Superior Police Department had received word that the man -- wanted for a felony DUI conviction and a pending bail-jumping warrant in Hood County, Texas -- was in the area. The man had allegedly told Texas authorities that he would not return and would "shoot it out" if they tried to arrest him.

Superior police located the man's vehicle outside the Cedar Lounge on North Third Street. After a period of surveillance, police believed the man was aware he was being watched. He tried to leave through a back exit and was arrested without incident. No weapons were found with the man. He was put in Douglas County Jail pending extradition to Texas.
