Temperatures dropped into the 20s across much of the Northland on Tuesday morning, with International Falls tying its record low for the date.

International Falls dropped to 23 degrees early Tuesday, tying a record first set in 1907. Weather spotters near Bigfork and Togo also recorded lows of 23 degrees, the National Weather Service reported.

Embarrass reported 24 degrees and Brimson dropped to 26. Other low temperatures around the region included:

  • 27 degrees - Crane Lake, Cook, Kabetogama, Inger, Littlefork, Orr, Northome
  • 28 degrees - Hibbing, Cotton, Grand Marais airport, Aurora, Grand Rapids, Ely, Sea Gull Lake
  • 29 degrees - Floodwood, Isabella
  • 30 degrees - Aitkin, Hill City
  • 32 degrees - Eveleth, Cloquet, Wright, Cohasset, Hermantown
  • 33 degrees - Saginaw, Wentworth
  • 34 degrees - Silver Bay, McGregor
  • 35 degrees - Hawthorne, Grand Portage
  • 37 degrees - Duluth airport, Superior airport

Another frosty night is expected tonight into Wednesday morning, with temperatures forecast to fall into the 20s and 30s across the region.
