Two Duluth teens were arrested Sunday evening after allegedly stealing items from vehicles in Lakeside.

The boys were arrested after police received a report of them prowling vehicles in the 5000 block of Colorado Street. About 7:30 p.m., a police officer saw them in the alley above Pitt Street and east of 48th Avenue East. One ran while the other threw something on the ground and rode away on a stolen bike. Officers set up a perimeter and arrested the 15- and 16-year-old boys. Officers recovered the bike, a stolen car stereo the one suspect had thrown and a stolen iPod one suspect was carrying, police said in a news release.

The suspects were taken to the Arrowhead Juvenile Center pending formal charges of possession of stolen property, fleeing on foot and underage consumption of alcohol.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Duluth Police Department Property Crimes Unit at (218) 730-5160.
