Two teens are under arrest for allegedly running away from a hit and run accident in Hermantown with a stolen vehicle.

Hermantown police say a 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy stole a car from the Duluth area, only to get into an accident at Arrowhead Road and Miller Trunk Highway around 7:30 Thursday morning.

A small perimeter was set up in the area when police say the two tried to get away.

"While they were trying to flee us, they went to another apartment complex," said Hermantown Police Sgt. Mark Gunderson. "We believe they stole two bikes to try to flee the area quicker."

Officers caught the boys after a brief chase. They face charges of motor vehicle theft, hit and run, and fleeing police.
