Suspect sought after shooting near Cass Lake

BEMIDJI -- Authorities are searching for a Cass Lake man after a shooting early Friday morning.
Dwight Thomas Jones, 39, should be considered armed and dangerous, the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office said in a release this morning.
According to the release, sheriff's deputies responded to a shots-fired call at the Allen's Bay neighborhood northwest of Cass Lake just after midnight.
Christopher Alex Romero, 22, of White Earth, Minn., was found suffering a gunshot wound to the leg and Edward Manuel Romero, 23, of White Earth, was found with injuries from a beating, the release said.
Authorities learned the incident involved a debt the Romeros' were attempting to collect, as well as arguments over Facebook postings. Cory Walter Jones, no age given, was taken into custody at the scene on serious assault and felon in possession of firearm charges. He is being held at the Beltrami County Jail in Bemidji.
Dwight Thomas Jones fled and is being sought by authorities; anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the sheriff's office at (218) 333-9111.
