A 33-year-old Chisholm man was in stable condition Friday after being stabbed at a home in Hibbing on Thursday evening. A suspect is in custody.
According to a news release from the Hibbing
Police Department, officers responded to the call at a home in the 2400 block of Fourth Avenue East about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. A Minnesota state trooper had been in the vicinity of the stabbing and was flagged down by the victim and a witness to the incident. The trooper took the suspect, a 32-year-old Hibbing man, into custody.
Hibbing police officers and a Hibbing Ambulance crew provided first aid to the victim, who was transported to Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi in
Hibbing and treated for knife wounds.

The suspect is being held on preliminary charges of second-degree assault; the incident remains under
investigation.
