Thanks to an observant neighbor, Duluth police were able to catch one suspect and retrieve stolen furniture after a break-in Sunday morning to an East Hillside tattoo parlor.

Police were called to Forsaken Tattoo Studio, 1131 E. Fourth St., about 5:30 a.m. when a neighbor saw two suspects dressed in black and carrying backpacks enter the building through a broken door, according to Brad Wick, Duluth police spokesman.

Continuing to watch the scene, the caller saw them move a large red chest outside. Until police arrived, the resident provided updates on the suspects' movements and locations, Wick said.

Officers located one suspect -- a 16-year old Duluth boy -- hiding between nearby homes, Wick said. So far, officers haven't located the second suspect.

The arrested youth was taken to Arrowhead Juvenile Center where he's being held on possible charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal damage to property and possession of burglary tools. He's also a suspect in a November case of car tampering, police say.
