A Superior woman pleaded guilty Thursday in Carlton County District Court to driving drunk in an accident that killed two men in 2006.

Shanda Rae Waseleski, 29, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal vehicular operation on Nov. 15, 2006, resulting in the death of Harold Knowlen, 33, of Cloquet and Morris Lamarche, 34, of Duluth. As part of a plea agreement, Waseleski will serve a four-year prison sentence and spend four years on supervised release.

Lamarche was pinned under the vehicle and appeared dead at the scene on Mission Road on the Fond du Lac Reservation. Knowlen was beneath the front passenger door and roof area of the car. He died two days later.

Within two hours of the crash, Waseleski had a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent, almost double the legal limit to drive.
