Wisconsin regulators have approved two rate increases and a decrease requested by Superior Water, Light & Power.
Electric rates are going up 3.8 percent, water rates are jumping 9.75 percent and gas rates are decreasing 9.6 percent.
The total revenue increase for the utility amounts to $2.5 million per year. The overall increase is needed to “cover the costs of replacing aging infrastructure and improving delivery systems, and also adjust for differences in the commodity prices of gas,” the company said in a news release Monday.
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin approved the rate changes, which were first requested in June 2016. The company said the average residential customer using all three services could see monthly bills increase by $8.
