Superior police are investigating a Sunday evening robbery at the Erbert and Gerbert's sandwich shop, 1325 Tower Ave.

About 9 p.m. Sunday, the Superior Police Department responded to a report that a robbery had just taken place at Erbert and Gerbert's, according to a news release from Sgt. Derrik Hughes.

Officers arrived on the scene shortly after the 911 call, searched the immediate area and interviewed the clerk. The initial investigation revealed that a man about 40 to 50 years old came into the shop and acted as if he were going to buy a soft drink. Once the employee opened the cash register to complete the transaction, the male suspect pushed him away from the register and grabbed the money before fleeing the store on foot. No weapon was seen. The clerk was not injured.

There are no suspects in the case, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Superior Police Department desk at (715) 395-7234, the tip line at (715) 395-7468 or 911 for any calls after business hours. The department's anonymous tip texting program may also be used by texting keyword SPDTIP and your tip to 847411.
