Superior police are seeking the public's help in finding a man who robbed a gas station at gunpoint on Monday night.
Authorities reported Tuesday that officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Krist Oil gas station at 2821 E. Second St. at about 10 p.m. Monday.
According to police:
A lone female clerk was preparing to close for the night when the suspect entered the gas station and demanded money while pointing what she believed to be a handgun in her direction. The man had his face concealed and told her to put money in a bag, and that he wouldn't hurt her. She complied and the suspect fled on foot; the clerk was not injured.
As the robbery was taking place, two men driving past noticed the man in the store with his face concealed, and suspected that a robbery was in progress. They turned around and got back to the gas station as the suspect was fleeing; one man went to help the clerk while the other tried to follow the suspect in his truck. He lost sight of the suspect in the nearby residential neighborhood.
