Superior man jailed for shooting at roommate

A Superior man was arrested this evening after he allegedly attempted to shoot his roommate.

Superior police said they were called to 2418 Banks Ave. about 7 p.m. on a report that shots had been fired.

According to police:

A 24-year-old man allegedly fired a shotgun at least once from close range at his 27-year-old roommate. The roommate wasn't injured.

A third adult also shares the residence but wasn't present when the shooting took place.

Police took the suspect into custody and seized the weapon. He is in Douglas County Jail on felony charges of domestic abuse-attempted first-degree intentional homicide, recklessly endangering safety and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon (use of a firearm while intoxicated).

Police did not release names of anyone involved in the incident.

The suspect is expected to make an initial appearance at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Douglas County Circuit Court.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
