A Superior man was sentenced Monday to 60 days in jail for sexually assaulting a teen who was babysitting at his residence.
Allan Ray Sapik II, 27, 1205 Baxter Ave., pleaded no contest in Douglas County Circuit Court to one felony charge of sexual assault of a child younger than 16 and misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. In addition to the jail time, he was sentenced to two years' probation with conditions that he pay $400 in fines, undergo a sexual offender evaluation and have no contact with the 15-year-old victim or her family. Huber work release was granted.
At the preliminary hearing, the babysitter said she had been reading but pretended to be asleep when Sapik and his girlfriend came home after 10 p.m. March 3.
She said Sapik went to cover her with a blanket but stopped and touched her breasts both over and beneath her bra. Then he tried to put his hand into her jeans, so she stirred and he stopped.
She said she awoke later that night with Sapik's hand on her breast again.

When he again tried to put his hand on the front of her jeans, she stirred and he stopped. But, she said, Sapik continued to touch her breasts for a couple of minutes.
In her victim witness statement, the teen said she had suffered nightmares and a loss of security and dignity from the incident.
"Sometime I feel like his hands are still on me, so I always carry a sweat shirt with me so I can 'cover up' what I feel is happening to me," she wrote.
