A number of Superior police officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 400 block of Cumming Avenue late Wednesday night.

Witnesses told police an individual had fired a gun from the porch of 418 Cumming Ave.

Officers attempted to make contact with an individual in that area, but were unable to do so, according Superior Police Capt. Chad La Lor.

"To our knowledge, at this point, nobody was injured and we're currently unaware of property damage," he wrote in an e-mail.

Today officers were able to make contact with the resident of 418 Cumming Ave., Thomas G. Bolin, 52, who admitted discharging a firearm from the porch after working on the gun.
