A Superior man accused of attempting to shoot his roommate after a disagreement over living expenses was charged Monday in Douglas County Circuit Court.
Tyler James Stubblefield, 24, faces felony charges of first-degree reckless endangerment by use of a dangerous weapon and attempted first-degree intentional homicide stemming from a Thursday night incident
at 2418 Banks Ave. Both charges are considered domestic abuse incidents.
Defense Attorney Rick Gondik requested a reduction in the $100,000 bail amount set last week.
Stubblefield is employed, he told Court Commissioner Rebecca Lovejoy, and will lose his job if he is not released. District Attorney Dan Blank pushed for a higher amount of $200,000 cash.

Lovejoy decided to leave the bail at $100,000 based on the serious nature of the charges.
About 7 p.m. Thursday, officers from the Superior Police Department responded to Banks Avenue on a call of shots fired.
According to the criminal complaint, Stubblefield had consumed a large amount of alcohol before the incident.
"I can't even tell you how much beer I drank," he told Superior Police Officer Patrick Carey after he'd been handcuffed.
Stubblefield is accused of pointing a loaded shotgun at his roommate's head. When the roommate grabbed the shotgun and pushed it away, Stubblefield fired off a shot, according to the complaint. As the roommate ran out the door, Stubblefield fired the gun again. Superior police found a hole in the kitchen wall and a hole in the living room window, as well as two shotgun shells on the kitchen floor, the complaint states.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 4.
