A prominent Twin Ports attorney was arrested Sunday night in the Town of Superior on a felony charge of child abuse.
Richard Gondik was taken into custody about 8:30 p.m. Sunday and spent the night in the Douglas County Jail.
Douglas County Sheriff Tom Dalbec said Monday evening that the charge involves an alleged male victim. No other information was immediately available regarding the incident.
A bail hearing was held Monday in Douglas County Circuit Court and Gondik was released on a $1,000 signature bond.
Gondik couldn't be reached for comment Monday.

The Superior lawyer has been in the news in recent months representing Duluth physician Javier De La Garza in criminal cases in Wisconsin and Minnesota. De La Garza was acquitted by a jury of a sexual assault charge in Wisconsin and settled his Minnesota case short of trial, both with Gondik as his attorney.
