The Superior Fire Department had to call on its fireboat to fight a fire Tuesday at Loons Foot Landing. Battalion Chief Steve Edwards said it appears that sparks from workers dismantling the former Northern Pacific ore dock set fire to some brush, cardboard and an old boat being stored below. The fire call came in about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Superior firefighters used their fireboat to fight the blaze and keep it from spreading to a couple of nearby sailboats. Fire crews remained on the scene until about 8 p.m. Photo submitted by Paul Heckman
