For some people, this has been a great winter with plenty of snow for snowmobiling and cross country skiing.  Plus, the cold has been great for ice anglers and ice cave tourists.  For some of us, this has been our winter of our discontent because of persistent cold and lots of shoveling.  This week, the cold will come back briefly and there may be more snow to shovel.

For Sunday, a late season arctic push will mean morning temperatures from 8-20 below. The high air pressure associated with the push means a sunny sky around the region. Afternoon highs will go from 20-25. The normal is 33. The wind will be southeast at 5-10 mph.

To the west, an Alberta Clipper type of low will form. At first, it will bring light snow chances. Later on, it could take a dip south and pick up Gulf moisture. That could spell moderate snow by midweek.

On Monday, look for a 40 percent chance for 1-2 inches of snow. Another 1-2 inches could fall Tuesday, 3-6 inches on Wednesday.
