The national Climate Prediction Center issued its latest two-week temperature and precipitation outlooks on Friday, and forecasters are calling for a good chance of above-normal temperatures and above-normal precipitation for the Upper Midwest, including the Northland, in the next 14 days.

We should see some of that warmth in the week ahead, with high temperatures forecast to be in the mid- to upper 60s; normal highs for this time of year are in the low to mid-60s, according to the National Weather Service.

Skies should start clearing today, with a few lingering rain showers possible and highs in the upper 60s in Duluth. Expect mostly sunny skies and highs near 70 on Monday and Tuesday. If you managed to protect your gardens from frost earlier this month, they should be safe this week: Overnight lows are forecast to remain in the 40s and 50s.
