Friday's snow wasn't that surprising. After all, it is basketball tournament time. But, the late season arctic blast was a bit of a surprise. And, it'll linger a few more days. Sunday morning, our wake-up temperatures will range from 5 below to 15 below. During the day, yet another arctic high will give us a clear sky. The highs in the afternoon will run between 15-20. The normal is in the mid-30s. The wind will be west at 5-10 mph.
On Monday, the high will move to the southeast, and a weak low will move closer to southwestern Minnesota. It will give the Twin Cities a chance of some snow, but the Northland should be dry with a mostly cloudy sky. The low will bring slightly warmer air, so the low temperature should be near "only" 5 below, and the high may hit 25.
For Tuesday, another arctic high-pressure system will push in from Canada, which will cool us back down. Lows will be around 0, and the high may make it to 20 under a partly sunny sky. Normal late March conditions should return on Thursday.
Five-day forecast:
Sunday: Partly cloudy with high 18 and low -5.
Monday: Mostly cloudy with high 25 and low 0.
Tuesday: Partly sunny with high 20 and low -10.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with 30% light snow chance with high 30 and low 14.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy with 40% light snow chance with high 38 and low 18
Sunday's weather for Duluth and the Northland: Cold again
