International Experience, a nationwide student exchange program, is trying to quickly find families willing to take in a foreign exchange student for at least the fall semester, and preferably the entire year.
At least 20 high school students -- primarily from Germany -- were scheduled to go to schools in Florida. For reasons that aren't clear yet, the Florida schools suddenly decided not to accept these students this year, explained Heidi Labyad, international coordinator with the program.
So now her organization is trying to find new host families in other states.
Labyad, who works out of the company's Duluth office, said the students will be arriving in the United States over the next few weeks.
Anyone interested in having a foreign exchange student stay should call Labyad in the company's Duluth office at (218) 349-0640.
