Storm leaves 5,700 Lake County co-op members without power

Nearly 6,000 Lake County Power members are without power after a strong storm system packing high winds moved through northern Minnesota this afternoon.

Nearly 6,000 Lake County Power members are without power after a strong storm system packing high winds moved through northern Minnesota this afternoon.

Outages are scattered throughout most of Lake Country Power's service area in northern Minnesota. Lake Country Power line crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.

The rural electric cooperative provides services to more than 41,000 members in eight northeastern Minnesota Counties. It has offices located in Grand Rapids, Kettle River and Virginia. The cooperative can be reached at (800) 421-9959.
