The Sawyer County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the man killed in single-vehicle accident Saturday.
William C. Cook, 71, of Stone Lake, Wis., was killed when the pick-up truck he was driving left the road and struck several trees. Cook was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened on Highway 27/70, approximately one-quarter mile east of Sawyer County Highway F, around 7:20 p.m.
