The Department of Health and Human Services has awarded two grants to the College of St. Scholastica, Congressman James L. Oberstar announced Wednesday.
One grant, in the amount of $292,880, will be used for advanced education nursing grants. The other grant, for $260,319, will go toward nursing workforce diversity.
"We're thrilled to have this support," Marty Witrak, chair of nursing at St. Scholastica, said in a prepared statement. "The first grant allows us to continue to develop our innovative Doctor of Nursing Program degree, which we plan to begin offering sometime during the coming academic year. The second grant allows us to meet the needs of diverse communities by developing a diverse workforce that comes from, and goes back to serve, those communities."
