Minutes before a 25-year-old was fatally shot in St. Paul on Wednesday, he posted on Facebook that someone was talking about shooting him.
Lamar Hale, who turned 25 just over two weeks ago, posted around noon Wednesday that a man was talking "about when he see me he shooting me down."
Police went to Arcade Street and Case Avenue at 12:08 p.m. on a report of a person shot. Witnesses said two people were involved in the shooting, and one left a shoe at the scene.
As officers arrived, dispatch notified them that the victim had been driven to Fire Station No. 7 at 1038 Ross Ave., about a mile away.
St. Paul fire paramedics worked on Hale and took him to Regions Hospital, where he died. Police said he had been shot in the chest.

It was unclear Wednesday who drove Hale to the fire station, though police later towed two vehicles from his family’s home, about a block from the shooting.
Police arrested a 24-year-old man at 12:30 p.m. at Desoto Street and York Avenue. He was booked into the Ramsey County jail on suspicion of murder. Police said he could be charged Thursday.
A police spokesman said that area residents had no cause to be concerned for their safety. Police also said they don’t believe the incident was random.
On Monday, Hale had shared someone’s photo on Facebook -- a casket that’s been lowered into the ground, with these words over it, "This Could Be Me But God Is So Good."
Hale’s family declined to comment, and police released no additional information about the incident.
