Earlier this year, the National Research Center, working on behalf of St. Louis County and four other counties, mailed surveys to 2,100 randomly selected residences county wide. Those survey results are being tabulated now and are considered statistically valid, a St. Louis County news release said.
“When the survey was originally announced, we received inquiries from a number of people who weren’t among the randomly selected pool, but still wanted to participate,” said Dana Kazel, St. Louis County spokesperson.
Responses to this online survey will not be factored into the official results, but will be reviewed and carefully considered. Anyone wishing to complete the survey should do so by April 10.
“We’re always interested to hear from the public, so this is a great opportunity to expand what we gain from the survey,” Kazel said.
Results from the mail-in survey will be shared by early summer and are taken into consideration by staff and commissioners as they prioritize projects and programs, and work on the 2020 budget and long range plans.
St. Louis County partnered with Dakota, Olmsted, Scott and Washington counties to produce the survey. St. Louis County conducted similar surveys four other times, most recently in 2016.
