St. Louis County Fair opens today

The 133rd annual St. Louis County Fair opens today and runs through Sunday at the fairgrounds along U.S. Highway 169 in Chisholm.

Some highlights of the week:

  • Today: Jitters Plus performs classic country at 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: bull riding at 7 p.m.; Pat and Donna Surface featuring music from the '50s, '60s and '70s at 1:30 and 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday: kids' games and contests from 1-4 p.m.; Pat and Donna Surface at 2 p.m.; kids' pedal tractor pull at 5 p.m.; Forty Below country and variety concert at 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: Four Blue Teardrops concert featuring '50s and '60s music at 1:30 p.m.; the Six 9s rock concert at 8:30 p.m.
  • Casey Aro will be performing music on the fairgrounds each day; the ATV Big Air Tour will have performances Friday and Saturday.

Gates open at 3 p.m. today, with the fair running until 11 p.m. It continues from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday; 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $8 for ages 13 and older; $3 for ages 6-12 and free for kids 5 and younger. Midway games and rides are extra.
