St. Louis County Board election Tuesday in eastern Duluth

Voters across the eastern third of Duluth will go to the polls Tuesday -- or at least they can -- to elect a new 2nd District St. Louis County commissioner.

Voters across the eastern third of Duluth will go to the polls Tuesday -- or at least they can -- to elect a new 2nd District St. Louis County commissioner.

City councilor Patrick Boyle and former city councilor Jim Stauber are vying to fill the open County Board seat vacated by the death of Steve O'Neil, who died of cancer in July.

Unregistered voters can register at their polling site on Election Day by providing one of the means of identification authorized by the Minnesota Secretary of State , which include a driver's license or utility bill with a current address within the district.

Polling places, which will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., include:

  • St. Michael's Catholic Church, 4901 E. Superior St.
  • Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 4430 McCulloch St.
  • Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1325 N. 45th Ave. E.
  • Faith Lutheran Church, 1814 N. 51st Ave. E.
  • Lakeview Covenant Church, 1001 Jean Duluth Road
  • Woodland Community Club, 3211 Allendale Ave.
  • Glen Avon Presbyterian Church, 2105 Woodland Ave.
  • Duluth Congregational Church, 3833 E. Superior St.
  • Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2310 E. Fourth St.
  • Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2010 E. Superior St.
  • First Lutheran Church, 1100 E. Superior St. Residents unsure if they live within the 2nd District, or where they should vote, can contact the St. Louis County auditor at (218) 726-2385 or the Duluth City Clerk at (218) 730-5500.
