Duluth police are reminding motorists that Thursday's Spirit Valley Days Festival Parade will disrupt parking and traffic in West Duluth.

Parade units will line up on 59th Avenue West between Central Avenue and Raleigh Street beginning at 4:30 p.m. The parade begins at 6 p.m., and will travel east on Grand Avenue from 59th Avenue West to Central Avenue and south on Central Avenue to Bristol Street. From there, it will turn onto Mike Colalillo Drive, where it will conclude.

All traffic will be detoured off Central and Grand avenues starting at 5:45 p.m.

All avenues and exits onto Central Avenue (from Bristol Street to Grand Avenue) and Grand Avenue (from Elinor Street to 59th Avenue West) will be closed during the parade. Eastbound traffic on Grand Avenue will be detoured north on 59th Avenue West to Cody Street. Westbound traffic on Grand Avenue will be detoured onto Elinor Street.

Traffic below Bristol Street on Central Avenue will be detoured to Raleigh Street, then west to Grand Avenue.

No parking will be allowed on either side of Central Avenue or Grand Avenue along the parade route. Vehicles in violation will be tagged and towed.
