Special-needs children and their families who missed out on a chance to see "Toy Story 3" at Duluth 10 this morning will get complementary tickets to another showing, a company spokesman said.
Marcus Theaters had announced in a news release that the movie would be shown at 10:30 a.m. today with the theater's lighting and sounds adjusted to make it a more comfortable setting for children with autism and similar conditions. The News Tribune carried a story about the special showing in Friday's paper.
About 30 children and their families came to the theater complex adjacent to the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center this morning to find the doors locked.
Carlo Petrick, Marcus Theaters spokesman, said there had been a miscommunication between the parent company and the local theater, and the special showing had been offered a week earlier.
Anyone who tried to attend this morning is asked to call (218) 722-1573 and ask for the theater manager.
