SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. -- A small plane crashed into a house Friday evening in the central Minnesota town of Sauk Rapids.
The occupant of the house at the time reportedly escaped unharmed, but the pilot’s fate was unknown.
The fiery crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. at 731 Garden Place, in a densely developed residential area near U.S. Highway 10 just north of St. Cloud.
According to the St. Cloud Times, the owner of the house, Jeff Hille, was not home at the time but his brother-in-law was. Hille said his brother-in-law was safe, the newspaper reported.
Sauk Rapids Mayor Brad Gunderson told the Pioneer Press that it was his understanding the brother-in-law jumped out a window and was uninjured.

“I never even saw the plane,” added Gunderson, who lives a couple of blocks from the house.
“It’s either buried in (the house) or it disintegrated,” he said after surveying the scene.
The fire was extinguished by 10 p.m., Gunderson said.
No other details of the crash were available late Friday evening.
