Six people who were hospitalized because of injuries suffered in a Central Hillside fight late Monday say they were arguing over a bicycle.
The argument apparently started at a nearby Spur gas station and was a "moving fight," until it got to the alley behind the 300 block of East Sixth Street, said John Beyer, Duluth deputy police chief.
No guns were involved, but several suffered bruises and perhaps one broken nose. At least one person was cut, possibly with a broken bottle used as a weapon, Beyer said.
"From the nature of the injuries in the report, none of them were too serious," Beyer said. "They all knew each other and say it was all about a bicycle. But it's really not clear what set this off."
No one had been jailed or charged in the fight as of Tuesday afternoon, Beyer said. Reports on the incident were still being compiled.

Delores Williams, who lives on the block, said she was watching TV when she heard glass breaking and shouts coming from behind her building.
She said she called 911 after seeing a group of about 10 people fistfighting in the alley.
"Somebody said something about stealing someone's bike," she said. After a few minutes, she said, about four people took off in a car.
