A severe thunderstorm capable of producing winds to 60 mph, hail, heavy downpours along with cloud to ground lightning was moving into the Twin Ports just before 6 p.m.
The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Duluth, Superior, Hermantown, Adolph, Proctor and Oliver as well as areas of western Lake Superior.
At 5:42 hail the size of quarters was reported in Esko. The warning is in effect until 6:30.
The storm is part of a long line of thunderstorms that stretches from Cook County to Carlton County.
