Severe thunderstorm, flash flood watches in effect

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Northland until noon today. A flash flood watch remains in effect through this afternoon for Northeastern Minnesota and portions of Northwestern Wisconsin.

Severe storms with large hail and damaging wind are possible across the region this morning.

Some of the storms may also bring heavy rain, which could produce flash flooding.

According to the the Duluth office of the National Weather Service, .63 inches of rain fell at Duluth International Airport in the past 24 hours.
