Best-selling author David Sedaris will be in Duluth on June 8 to read and sign copies of his latest book, "When You Are Engulfed in Flames."
Sedaris, who has written five New York Times Best Sellers, will read for about 30 minutes and then sign books starting at 6 p.m. at Northern Lights Books and Gifts at 307 Canal Park Drive.
" 'How in the world did you get David Sedaris to come to your store?' We've been asked that many times in the past month," a news release from Northern Lights Books read. "The simple answer is we received a phone call from his publisher asking us if we would like to host David on his book tour for the paperback release of 'When You Are Engulfed in Flames.' David wanted to come to Duluth and to an independent bookstore."
People attending the event must purchase at least one Sedaris book or CD from the store to receive a ticket, which will be available June 1.
Sedaris has contributed to "This American Life" on National Public Radio and "The New Yorker" magazine. His collections of essays included "SantaLand Diaries," "Naked," "Holidays on Ice," "Me Talk Pretty One Day" and "Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim."
