The Duluth School Board adopted the Red Plan at its meeting tonight on a 6-1 vote.
The facilities plan calls for creating East and West feeder systems on either side of the district and closing Central High School and several other schools across grade levels. Denfeld High School would serve as the western high school and a renovated and expanded Ordean as the eastern high school. East would become a middle school and a new middle school would be built out west.
Elementary schools would be consolidated from 12 to nine schools.
All of the remaining schools will be new or like new.
