Duluth and International Falls came within just a few degrees of reaching record high temperatures on Friday.
The National Weather Service reported that the Duluth airport hit 76 degrees; the city's record high for Sept. 26, set in 1923, remains 80 degrees. International Falls reached 80 degrees on Friday, just three degrees off the record set in 1922.
Expect continued sunny, balmy conditions today and Sunday before it all comes to a screeching halt. A cold front is forecast to move across the region, bringing a chance for rain showers very late Sunday into Monday. Highs on Monday may struggle to climb out of the low 50s.
