Witherspoon's 62- and 60-yard scoring runs keyed the offensive production for Central (3-1) while quarterback Harden Henry ran 10 times for 70 yards, including a touchdown, and completed one pass for a 13-yard touchdown to Witherspoon.

The Trojans' first-string defense held the Blue Devils (1-3) to one first down while Marcel Rivers had one interception and one blocked punt.

Gilson, who was 7-for-14 for 130 yards, found Thielen for an 18-yard TD pass in the second quarter and sealed the victory with a 63-yard heave down the sideline for a 34-0 lead in the third quarter. Thielen made four receptions for 93 yards for Detroit Lakes (4-0, 3-0).
