Rickert grabs more accolades as season ends

The Associated Press reported that Duluth East's sensational big-man Rick Rickert was named to the All-State Basketball First team for the second consecutive year on Tuesday.

The Associated Press reported that Duluth East's sensational big-man Rick Rickert was named to the All-State Basketball First team for the second consecutive year on Tuesday.
The 6-foot, 10-inch junior center, who will be the feature attraction at the 1st annual Kernz and Kompany High School All Star basketball game on March 28 at Denfeld High School, led his Greyhounds to a 18-6 record this season.
Rickert averaged 29.7 points per game for Duluth East this year.
The Kernz and Kompany All Star event will include both a boys and a girls game, with skills competitions to proceed each.
The Duluth boys team will be coached by Duluth East's Bob Kunze, while the Duluth girls squad will be led by longtime Denfeld mentor Dick Swanson.
