No one was injured in a house fire early Tuesday morning in Duluth's Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The Duluth Fire Department responded to a fire at 2309 W. Eighth St. at 1:14 am. The occupant was out of the house by the time crews arrived.
Crews found heavy fire involvement on the back side of the residence, according to a news release from the fire department. Firefighters entered the house and extinguished the fire on the second floor.
Firefighters cut a hole in the roof to vent heat and smoke and to assess for any fire extension. Damage to the building, which was contained to the second floor, is estimated at $50,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
