The Duluth Fire Department is issuing a condition red flag along the Park Point beaches effective immediately and continuing until 10 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release.
A red flag means a high risk of rip currents. Wind and/or wave conditions support dangerous rip currents. Rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the surf. All people are advised to stay out of the water.
Lifeguards are not present at Park Point. Everyone is advised to stay out of the water and be aware of flags at 12th Street beach, Lafayette Square, and Park Point Beach.
