The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office has announced the release of a Level 3 predatory sexual offender who is living on the 5500 block of Tischer Road in rural Duluth.

Willie James Vaugh-Bey, 47, has a history of sexually assaulting female victims age 14 through adult while using force to gain compliance. He was known to his victims.

The sheriff's office will host an informational meeting about Vaugh-Bey at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Lakewood Township Town Hall, 3110 Strand Road.

Level 3 sex offenders are considered the most likely to offend again because the offender did not respond to or undergo treatment programs while in prison. If an offender is considered at high risk of repeating an offense, under the notification law, police can alert the sex offender's family, victim, local schools, child care centers or the entire community of his release from prison.
