After rain nearly every day for the past week many Northlanders might be ready to say enough is enough, but it’s going to be a couple more days before everyone gets sunny skies.
Duluth has received more than 3.25 inches of rain over the last seven days, including more than a half inch on Saturday and already more than a quarter-inch so far today. Duluth is 1.5 inches above normal for rainfall so far in May.
Some areas have received even higher rainfall totals in recent days, including parts of northern Wisconsin which have seen more than five inches in the past seven days. Minor flooding of roads continued to be reported in the Glidden area of southern Ashland County, although rivers there are receding, the Weather Service reports.
The National Weather Service in Duluth is forecasting more rain this afternoon and tonight, rain possible Monday and even a chance of rain Tuesday before sunny skies prevail on Wednesday across the region. It’s going to finally warm up too, with midweek highs near 70.
