A Proctor man was charged Wednesday in St. Louis County District Court with one count of first-degree aggravated robbery and possession of a short-barreled shotgun following his arrest early Monday morning after leaving the Pure Pleasure adult novelty store in Hermantown.
Patrick James Robertson, 48, is being held in the St. Louis County Jail on $50,000 bail.
Hermantown Police Officer Jozef Miketin stopped Robertson as he drove away from Pure Pleasure. A store employee had previously reported a suspicious man who may have been casing the business. Miketin noticed a sawed-off shotgun in Robertson's vehicle.
After reviewing security tapes and interviewing witnesses, Robertson was charged with a 2006 robbery at Pure Pleasure. Robertson owned clothes that matched those seen on the surveillance tapes during the robbery, said Hermantown Police Sgt. Shawn Padden.
Hermantown police believe Robertson was planning another robbery Saturday night, Padden said. He discovered a rubber Halloween mask and a black wig in one of Robertson's vehicles. That vehicle's license plates had been covered with tape, Padden said.
