Hermantown police arrested a 48-year-old Proctor man they said was in possession of a sawed-off shotgun early Monday as he drove away from the Pure Pleasure adult novelty store on Highway 53 in Hermantown.
A store employee had earlier reported a suspicious man who was possibly casing the business.
When Hermantown Police Officer Jozef Miketin saw a Dodge Durango with its license plates obscured by paper towels leaving the Pure Pleasure parking lot, he stopped the vehicle and questioned the driver. Miketin noticed the shotgun inside the vehicle, found it to be loaded and took the driver into custody.
After executing a search warrant at the suspect's home and vehicles, Hermantown police said they believe the man is responsible for a 2006 robbery at Pure Pleasure and possibly other area robberies.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and Proctor Police Department assisted in the arrest and investigation. The suspect is being held at the St. Louis County Jail awaiting formal charges.
